FAQ for Travis Nelson Park in Century Florida:
Nice big park with a big playground and has a walking track. It has two big awnings with picnic tables.
This place needs some minor to intermediate maintenance done on the play equipment and tables. Other than that it’s very clean and very spacious. The walking track has to be at least 1 mile per lap. There is disc golf and aerobic exercise equipment. Ther are 2 covered pavilions and it’s a great spot for cookouts or birthday parties.
I’ll be honest ive never been to the park however I served with L/Cpl Travis Nelson in 1st battalion 6th Marines.I’m glad to see there is a park dedicated in his memoryI’ll miss you forever my friend
A most beautiful park and memorial for Travis Nelson. I wish more parks in the area would be like this park. The only recommendation I would give is doing something about the bird nest problem in the pavilions. There are very large piles of bird feces on the ground in the pavilions and many of the tables, benches, playground equipment, and exercise equipment are covered in bird feces.
My granddaughters and grandson are having a great time at our first trip to Travis Nelson Park. Fortunately there is a port-a-potty in the parking lot but unfortunately there was no toilet paper or hand sanitizer. It does have several shade trees(pecan) a few with benches and lots of covered picnic tables. The park also boasts multiple pieces of exercise equipment, a basketball court, swings and jungle gym. There is so much room for the kids to run and have fun. There is a feeling of tranquility and safety.
