If you see the fork in the road go left. Other than that, the trails are so beautiful and easy to access part for wheelchair access and lots of vigorous up and down past water and cliffs. I only saw this trail. Lovely and can’t wait to go back!
They have covered picnic areas and restrooms, great for dogs and kids and very clean!
Such a really nice park to go hiking with family and friends. There are ticks everywhere but if you come prepared, they shouldn’t bother you.
Nice state park with well-maintained trails and clean. Fairly popular so expect company. Would return anytime to hike here.
Beautiful sunny mild day but the trail was very wet and muddy and some snow in areas wherethe sun couldn’t reach. But the hike was great we saw dozens of frozen falls and watersheds and lots of neat rock formations. The trails were well marked. There is a nice bathroom and plenty of picnic tables and shelters at the Sandstone trail head. They are in the process of restoration of the Don Robinson home.
there are 2 trails, both with very nice features. The Sandstone Canyon trail does not allow access to the deepest canyon in Missouri because the trail use had eroded the bank too much. The Canyon trail does go by some sandstone palisades and rock shelters, and there are some very nice creeks. That trail is 4 miles long , with frequent changes in altitude. There are some cut-offs for those wanted a more limited experience. The flowers in Spring are quite good.
