The Douglas County Off-leash Area is a popular fenced dog park conveniently located in Castle Rock, Colorado. Known for its large grassy fields, this dog-friendly destination offers plenty of space for your pup to run, play, and enjoy their zoomies off-leash. The park uniquely alternates between two spacious areas, allowing for grass recovery and ensuring well-maintained grounds all year round. Local pet owners often enjoy a welcoming community and regularly bring water jugs to make sure every dog stays hydrated.
This clean and well-kept dog park includes a covered seating area with tables and detached chairs where owners can relax while supervising their pets. Amenities like waste bags and cleanup tools are provided, making it easy to maintain the park’s cleanliness. While there’s no separate small dog section or agility equipment, the space is perfect for social dogs, and the covered area supplies limited shade for hot days.
This is a great place to let your dog take off and let their zoomies out. The regulars (humans) are very kind and quite understanding with newcomer pups with anxiety. There are 2 sides, 1 will be chained up to allow the area to dry or regrow or whatever, but there’s always at least one side open from what I can tell. There are tables and additional detached chairs for owners to relax, work, etc while monitoring their pup’s playtime. Bags are provided, and a lot of people will leave water jugs to ensure doggos that come later have accessible water. Highly recommend.

Nice dog park on the south end of Castle Rock. Usually moderately busy throughout the day so your pup is likely to have playmates. Afternoons and evenings seem busier. Large fenced in field w water bowls (bring water). Plenty of bags and tools to clean up behind your pal. No Agility toys/obstacles. No shade except in a small covered area w picnic tables to sit.

The park itself is small but very clean and well maintained. The issue is a few privileged regulars who smoke weed and curse very loudly while screaming into their cellphones, with complete disregard for everyone else there. If I had my grandkids with me, there would have been an issue.
If I go there and it happens again, I’ll call the police for smoking weed in public and disturbing the peace.
Fair warning.
