My partner and I had an excellent time exploring here. The lake is beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed a nice and easy, 1 mile hike along the lake. We then had a picnic and continued exploring the beautiful mountains that surrounded us. We absolutely LOVE it here and will be spending many weekends here. So gorgeous. Photos don’t do it justice! We also got a kick outta the payphone, because we had no idea those things were still around. 💝
Now is time to catch the stripes. Water increased a lot of water in lake and clean. Last few month was so low water.
Beautiful country side just outside LA with so much areas to park and have picnics or special outdoor events. Lake is huge and restrooms are well maintained.
West side entrance beutiful placed to be with family, they have tables and grills. Parking cars only NULL with trailer and inspection NULL well woth it to relax and enjoy a beutiful view , if your into fishing this will be your spot
Castaic Lake Recreation Center was the perfect spot for our Easter celebration. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt welcoming and festive. The park provided plenty of open space for family activities, and the scenic views around the lake added a peaceful backdrop to our gathering.
One of the standout features was how well-maintained the entire area was. The grounds were clean, the landscaping was neatly kept, and the restrooms were spotless — a detail that made a big difference during our visit. It was clear that the staff takes pride in keeping the park in excellent condition for guests.
Overall, we had a wonderful time enjoying the fresh air, spending time with loved ones, and taking in the beautiful surroundings. Castaic Lake Recreation Center offered a relaxing and family-friendly environment that made our Easter celebration extra special. We’ll definitely be returning for future holidays and outings.
