The trail’s rocky and sometimes muddy terrain offers a gentle challenge while rewarding visitors with the peaceful beauty of the lake – a favorite destination for both people and pups to cool off in the summer months.

Spectacular hike on a beautiful Independence Day. Rocky, rough, uneven terrain. Very muddy in places. Creek and little waterfalls along the way.

I’ve been hiking up to Nine Corner Lake (formerly Nine Cornered Lake) for decades. It’s a great, mostly uphill, but not too strenuous hike. It parallels a stream, eventually crossing it on a snowmobile bridge. The lake has a swimming area, but some weekends in the summer it can be popular. There are sometimes leeches in the water, though we didn’t see any recently. North of the swimming area is a cluster of boulders, some massive, and they’re popular for bouldering.

Always a favorite!!! Major thing I noticed early on already, people are being dirty, leaving cans and food wrappers around. Pick up after yourself, this is a place where young kids and dogs go too, with the amt. Of glass I found at top, a few people could’ve gotten hurt. Be respectful and pick up after yourself.
