If you typed “dog park” in and found this park: Pick up your dog waste. Spay/neuter and vaccinate your dog. Learn how to socialize your dog before attending. Use your own water bowl (communal water bowls spread disease and parasites) This park is actually really nice with lots of shade and space to run, but Carlsbad visitors and workers kinda make it hard for good dogs to have fun.

Really nice and clean, no grass thorns (puncturevine (goatheads), sandspurs, or burweed), plenty of benches for parents to rest with views of the Pecos River, some shade from trees around the park, a water hose station for the water bowl, and toy structures with extra balls and toys. While we there on a Tuesday morning, there was a crew there cleaning in the park. Very nice park, better than many we’ve been to around the US.

Very nice dog park. It’s a nice and peaceful setting. I was actually passing by on my kayak with my dog and decided to stop by and we ended up coming back every day I was in town. Will definitely be back for sure. Plenty of shade and there is a water spout with lots of pressure.

Well kept spot with plenty of room to run and a separate park for the little doggos. Water and waste bags are available and plenty of pñaces to sit in some shade while your fur baby plays.
The view of the nearby water makes it a very nice stop.

Definitely being a smaller town, I wouldn’t expect the greatest facilities, but our local dog park has everything you would need. There are two main yards, a larger one for all dogs, and then smaller one for small dogs only. There are several large trees and a canopy that gives you plenty of shade. There are several waste cleanup stations with dog bags and trash cans. There is a water faucet and bowls for hem to drink from. There are also several dog trick training obstacles for you’re feeling ambitious. If you have a friendly dog, I definitely recommend coming down and getting to meet some fellow dog lovers yourself, the view of the Pecos River and the walking trails around make it all the better!
