FAQ for Alga Norte Dog Park in Carlsbad California:
Best park ever in San Diego broader area. Nice restroom lot of shade. The only back drop is it’s in the lower area of canyon.
It’s been a little over a year since I brought my dog to this park due to aggressive dogs. I brought him there this morning during earlier hours hoping to try to get him being used to other dogs some more. A brown and white dog with a name that started with a “T” maybe Trevor or Toby, started snipping at him and the owner states that this dog is aggressive toward puppies. My dog is 5, no puppy but besides that, if your dog is aggressive toward any dog why take them to a dog park. The lady didn’t seem smart but come on. This was all in the small dog side and I was just trying to help my pug warm up to other dogs but this was nothing but a set back.
Nice large enclosed dog park with activities for dogs. They separate the large and small dogs, under 35 pounds. They also have an additional enclosure for dogs that need to be separated or warm up to the park. They are opened later than most dog parks too, which is great for those that work but want to take the pup out after work. I really wish they had a restroom closer. You have to take your dog to the restroom with you if you don’t have someone else to watch them.
Really nice dog park. There are separate sections for small dogs under 35 pounds and for larger dogs. Everyone was having a great day. Lots of shady areas and nice views. Very friendly people with their dogs. Normally the park closes at sunset but now there is a sign that says it closes at 3pm.
