Pelican Park is a well-loved community park in Carencro, Louisiana, offering a wide range of amenities and fun for both families and pet owners. While not a dedicated fenced dog park, dogs are welcome in the park, especially during regular times when events are not ongoing. The spacious area provides room for leashed walks, picnic spots, and scenic bodies of water for a relaxing day out with your furry friend.
The park is wheelchair accessible, features well-maintained ball fields, picnic tables, playgrounds, and public restrooms—making it suitable for all visitors. Families appreciate the seasonal events, live concerts, and fun activities for kids. With its welcoming atmosphere and open green spaces, Pelican Park is a great option for dog-friendly outings in the Carencro area.
It’s pretty good close to one of my favorite places in Cali. I just happen to prefer my noodles 🍜 a little more cooked to soak up the flavor of the soup. But it was still good. I had the miso happy, and my husband had the black garlic with the spicy flavor. Also, the dumplings are really good. The service was fast, and our server was nice. The atmosphere is pretty cool. It’s a quaint little place.
Very nice place, we enjoyed the hot air ballon glow show. Such a nice place with so many rides for the kids. Well organized!
Pelican park has free concerts on Wednesdays (seasonally). Expect quality Zydeco, Cajun, or Country music. Free did is sometimes provided (but rarely vegetarian). There are no dogs allowed signs but people bring their dogs when events are not going on. Although I only being my Service Dog or my SDIT. They frequently hold events like the hot air balloon event last fall. The park has bodies of water and is a good place for a picnic.
The ball parks are well kept and full every time I go. I really go to the north side of the ball parks for a local Spring and Fall season of live local Acadiana music and dancing called The Mercredi Show! Sit on the hill facing the stage, enjoying the music & dancing. It’s a bring your own chair sort of place with beverages available for purchase.
The young kids at the gate were very nice and courteous. Once the concession stand will open thing will be great. The park is doing the best it can.
