FAQ for Carver Park in Cantonment Florida:
It could be a nice park but pay attention as there is some danger due to neglect. Quite a bit of random trash spread around. Picnic tables are solid cement and sturdy, just need to bring broom to clean debris and spider webs before using. Plus side is its shady.
It’s a big park with a decent playset for the kids. Quite a few tables and 2 covered picnic areas. A ballfield (never seen any games there) a basketball court and usually on Tuesdays there is a food drive which causes some traffic issues. There are quite a few large parties on holidays that last way past dark but rarely have any fighting and no shootings (it is in the hood) I live right around the corner so it’s convenient for us to take our child there.
The park itself has been neglected and poorly maintained. However the event they hosted was well organized, generous, and effluent at getting folks fed with balanced , full food boxes. This could be the norm once a month!
I love this park. It’s by my house which makes it conveinent and recently upgraded by the county. We’ve had a birthday party there and practice basketball. They put in a walking track and a sand area for kids to play or a volleyball game. I’m trying to get a community garden going here as well. Only compliant is to the litter bugs. I pick up a 30 gallon bag of trash every single time I go.
This is a beautiful park, my children and I enjoy coming here.
