🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Nimisilla Park is an inviting green space nestled in the heart of Canton, Ohio, offering pet-friendly trails and open areas perfect for dog owners and their furry companions. The park features a scenic pond, abundant trees providing shade, and a network of walking trails stretching from Tusc to Fulton, making it ideal for leisurely walks or dog-friendly hiking. Its blend of city convenience and natural beauty makes it a favorite spot for locals looking to enjoy peaceful moments with their pets surrounded by a bit of nature.
The park is wheelchair accessible, has ample parking, and provides family-friendly amenities such as playgrounds, pavilions, picnic tables, and public restrooms. While dogs are welcome throughout the park, there is no dedicated off-leash, fenced dog area. The park’s tree cover ensures cool, shaded areas during summer months, and activities for all ages make it a versatile destination for families and their four-legged friends.
I love this park. I frequently park by the pond jus want to watch the ducks. This is quite popular with a lot of people really. There is a walking trail that stretches from Tusc all the way to Fulton.
The playground itself is nice, we’ve gone twice. But after about 7pm the park fills with adults blasting music, dancing inappropriately in front of children. The bathrooms are also very unclean. We will not be returning due to these things.
Needs to be maintained waaaay better. Blunt tips and wrappers everywhere, cigarette butts, a literal drug needle, shells from someone’s crab legs, kleenexes, and most of a deck of cards were just some of the things we had to clean up before we could even begin to use this facility.
I haven’t been all around the lake yet but it’s beautiful ps my sons have fished a few times 🥸
This is a nice looking park that seems almost like it’s out of place. Everything around it is “city” and this little piece of nature is just there. There are lots of trees, but it’s still open space, not quite “woods”. The trees leave the area nicely shaded (which I imagine is great in the summer – I just happened to be there in November).
Overall it’s a great looking little park with a playground, some pavilions, and pretty big.
