Covered Bridge Park in Canton, OH offers a trail suitable for walking, running, and biking, and serves as a training facility for the local police department. The park features a well-maintained quarter-mile track and connects to local trails and landmarks. However, it does not have a covered bridge despite its name, and the park lacks restroom facilities, kid-friendly equipment, and ample parking. The area borders a quiet apartment complex and a cemetery and has some maintenance issues including concerns about the creek and debris along the property borders. It is dog-friendly and good for children, but it is somewhat underwhelming and mainly offers a gravel road loop and open field space.

It was a little underwhelming. I did expect a covered bridge. It pretty much is a muddy loop and its main feature are high voltage power lines hanging down. No bathroom. I guess it’s better than no path at all, so there is that.

This isn’t a COVERED BRIDGE PARK. It’s a field with high tension power lines and a circle gravel road around it.
It’s apparently also a landscape dumping ground for everything the City of Canton doesn’t recycle. There’s about 6 ft wall of debris surrounding the back and side border of the property.
I went there looking for the RED COVERED BRIDGE I remember from my childhood.
It’s NOT there. 🤷🏼‍♀️😕

The covered bridge creek and park needs a lot of TLC. I’ve emailed several times to have the creek addressed and it still has not been resolved. The smell is starting to escalate and the high temps aren’t even here. I’ll make sure to vote “no” for parks on the next ballet. Money given from us home owners isn’t being utilized.

This is the training facility for CPD. It’s also where the city water wells are. The track is well maintained, about .25 miles around. The West Branch trailhead is here. 3/4mi to the 38th St NW crossing at the railroad, and 4mi to President Mckinley’s tomb (there’s a gas station at 2 miles, water etc). The park is a bit rundown, it used to be ball fields. No kid-friendly equipment, very limited parking, NO RESTROOMS, and no actual covered bridge. It borders a quiet apartment complex on one side and a cemetery on the other (it’s noisy around Midnight). The local tornado siren is here, so Mondays at noon…

Sunday stroll with my dog! Park is great, the trail allows for walking, running and biking and connects several places.
