If you want to see Mother Nature’s infinite beauty hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville and head south to the Terminus in Cherokee, NC. The air is cleaner, the roads are windy and you enter tunnels through mountains and thank every man who helped create this gorgeous road. There are so many overlooks and gorgeous places to stop and sit. Just sit. Look out at the expanse of colorful trees and take it all in. It’s difficult to put into words how gorgeous this part of the country is but a stop on the southern part of the Blue Ridge Parkway is Graveyard Fields. Take the trail. Experience it. Don’t just take a picture and leave. You’ll thank me later. Happy travels.
This was a beautiful but challenging hike. Wouldn’t suggest for children under 5. When you think you have reached the top. You really haven’t. Just keep going.
An experience which will bring you to the moon! The color of the foliage is breathtaking and something that everyone has to see. We drove 11 hours to get to North Carolina and it’s worth every minute!
Beautiful hike with lots of Rhododendron and foliage. It leads to a waterfall, more strenuous hike once you get up to the waterfall. Would not recommend for small children. Lots of mud and crossing creeks but worth it
Highlight of our trip! Not the easiest trail to the upper falls but not the hardest either. It was a moderate hike and very well maintained and marked. Facilities were clean also which is nice for the ladies. Honestly no complaints this place was awesome. The swimming hole at the lower falls was by far the best part. Water was cold and refreshing great place for a hike or a picnic. Recommend giving yourself at least 3 hours to fully enjoy the place. But you can manage the loop in an hour and a half if you were in a hurry.
