🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Canton Paw Park offers dog owners in Cherokee County a dedicated space to let their furry friends explore off-leash. With a spacious, fenced-in area and plenty of natural shade, this park is ideal for dogs seeking new smells and room to play. Wheelchair accessible parking is available, making it easier for everyone to enjoy an afternoon outdoors with their pups.
While the park provides the basics for a fun pet outing, visitors have noted that some amenities are limited: there are currently no water fountains, restrooms, or picnic areas on site. Seating is sparse and parking is limited to a grassy/gravel area along the road. The park features areas signed for small and large dogs, though these signs are faded, and there are occasional maintenance concerns to be aware of, such as bent fencing and the need for better waste management. For those looking for a simple, dog-friendly outing in Canton, this park serves as a convenient spot.
This is easily the worse “dog park” I’ve ever been to, if you can even call it a dog park. It’s a nasty health hazard more than a dog park. Do yourself a favor and go to the Woodstock or Catersville dog parks both of which are infinitely better.
I’d put zero stars of o could. We took our dog there, and not even two days later, there were huge sores on her paws after playing in a mud hole even after we had bathed her immediately after. The sores look always like they’re getting better, but then they get tree times worse. There was poo everywhere, and it was extremely poorly maintained. I wouldn’t recommend bringing your dogs here due to the high probability of your dog getting sick or injured.
Good if you don’t have a yard to run your dogs in, but pretty neglected with bent fencing and parking is limited to the grass/gravel in front of the fence on the road. A LOT of dog waste and holes dug in the large dog side so watch your step. Shame people using the park couldn’t help keep it clean and in nicer condition.
Generous space and plenty of shade make this a nice place to let your dog(s) explore.
But the signs for large/small dog sides of the park are severely faded; and a bent gate could allow smaller dogs to escape.
The dogs loved the new smells and had plenty of run room! No restrooms or water fountains for dog bowl fill up, no picnic area nor many places to sit wile watching ur dog.
