If you’re seeking a pet-friendly spot in Canastota, New York, Oxbow Falls Park is a fantastic destination for both dogs and their owners. The dog park offers a large, fully fenced grassy area where dogs can run off-leash, socialize, and enjoy various agility obstacles scattered throughout the space. Owners will appreciate amenities like benches, picnic tables, and a separate section for small dogs called the “squeaker park,” ensuring a safe and fun experience for pups of all sizes. Water is available from a hand pump, and the park provides bags and trash cans for easy clean-up.
In addition to the dedicated dog area, the park itself features scenic pet-friendly trails and picturesque views of waterfalls. While the hiking trails may have some challenging spots and could use updated signage, the onsite disc golf course, playgrounds, courts, and broad open spaces make it a great outing for the whole family, including kids. Ample parking and open lawns further add to the park’s appeal. Please note the park can get muddy after rain, and you may need to bring extra water for your pet during busy times or warmer weather.

Nice trail. There are three falls but you can really only get a good view of one of them.

Very easy trail if you don’t go to the end. We stopped after the third waterfall. Best time to go would be early spring before the leaves fill in.

I don’t think I’d return to this one. There is one very beautiful view, but they really need a better map. Trails are marked but are all over the place with no map or signs. One of their bridges definitely needs to be fixed. Quiet walk though with babbling creeks
