Goose Park

Goose Park is a unique urban spot in Cambridge, MA, known for its large population of geese. It offers a natural experience where visitors can feed and watch the geese from a dirt area accessed by a slope near a bridge. The park is wheelchair accessible and good for kids, but it is not a traditional park setting and has issues with litter, goose droppings, and nearby homeless encampments. There are no formal park amenities like shelters, seating, or restrooms, making it more of an informal nature viewing area.

This is an odd park if you could call it a park. It is just a dirt area by the bridge that you get down to by walking down a dirt slope. There is so many geese here for some reason, which makes it a very interesting area to check out. If you are walking by here you might as well go down and check the geese out because it is pretty cool. Down here is also the way onto the train tracks below the bridge. There is also some homeless encampments near this area and the place isn’t any sort of moderated area with an outhouse or anything so keep that in mind if you are trying to have a walk in the park.
Nice to see so many geese at once! Watching them is one of the way to ease your mind from current situation!
Cambridge needs to address the homeless encampment that repeatedly pops up here. It used to be a great park
“More fun than the playground. You get to feed geese, and there are geese everywhere, and you can find stuff in the river. There’s lots of trash in the river also.” Says my ten year old. “Goose park is definitely more fun than the playground next to it. You get to feed the geese. Although the downside is there’s lots of litter and goose poop there.” Says my eight year old.
Magnificent geese. Be kind and they return the favor. If you want to befriend a white goose, bring salad greens or bread and speak softly.
