Located at 480 Skyway Dr, Freedom Dog Park is a favorite spot for local dog owners seeking an accessible, pet-friendly space in Camarillo, California. The park features dedicated areas for both large and small dogs, plenty of grass, and the convenience of lighting for evening visits. The large dog section is appreciated for its beautiful shade and spacious grassy area, making it an excellent place for your canine to run and socialize.
While regulars love the community atmosphere and amenities like water fountains and seating, the small dog area is partly concrete and offers less shade, which visitors note could be improved. Both park sections are fenced, and there’s a double-gated entry system to help keep pups safe. With essential amenities including water, seating, and night lighting, Freedom Dog Park is an accessible and enjoyable destination for local pet owners looking for a safe and friendly dog park in Ventura County.
We have been going the last 3 weeks. Absolutely love it there. We have met a small group of regulars that bring their pups there so we have had a great time everytime. It has lights and water so you don’t have to bring your own.

This place has set hours, so I expect it to be open during said set hours. 7 to 9pm other then on Tuesday mornings. It’s is Wednesday at 7pm and the gates are locked. What the actual heck. Not cool. Guess someone didn’t want to do their job. Like seriously no note on why it was closed 2 hours early.

Large dog side is nice, trees and plenty of grass. Positive for both sides is lighting, in the evenings. Great for people that work, and it gets dark before you can get your pups out. Small dog side is too small. 1/3 concrete on small side, makes it an even smaller area, for dogs to run and play. Picnic tables are a hazard, they are set on concrete. This is not a picnic area. No one should have food in the dog park. Little dogs may jump off, of the tables, and onto the concrete, and get injured. Please replace tables, with benches. Please get rid of 1/2 of the concrete, and have more grass. Needs some shade on the small side. There are no trees. This area could have been divided up very differently, giving a tree or two to the small side. Opportunity missed for separated entrances, too. Everyone, from both sides, has to bottleneck, in a bullpen, coming, or going.

Beautiful shade, on one large side. As for the other very small cemented side, NO shade, and hot hot cement for the doggies feet. The small dogs run back and forth over the cement. Good park, if you can get the Very large shaded side.
