Myrtle Point Park in California, Maryland, is a scenic, pet-friendly destination offering dog owners plenty of outdoor space to explore with their pups. With multiple trails that wind through farm, forest, marsh, and riverside environments, this park is ideal for those seeking dog-friendly hiking along the water and through wooded areas. The park features beaches where leashed dogs are welcome, making it a favorite spot among locals during the summer for picnics, fishing, kayaking, and family outings.
Amenities at Myrtle Point Park include picnic tables, BBQ grills, restrooms near pavilions and parking, and ample parking lots. There are also wide paths and shady waterfront relaxation zones, making it a pleasant destination even on warmer days. The park is economical for locals, though out-of-county residents should note higher fees on holidays. Take caution: some trails can be muddy after rain, and mosquitoes are common in wooded areas, so plan accordingly.
It was overall really nice! Wide paths and lots of waterfront areas to relax at! Porta Potties near waterfront areas. Some waterfront areas had grills but I would get there when they open to secure a grill. Today was a little cloudy and the bugs were definitely out in the woods. Bring a bug net for your head if that bothers you. Overall a lovely area to visit.
This is my favorite beach in Maryland. I highly recommend coming here if you haven’t before. It’s free and open to the public and dogs are allowed. They have walking and hiking trails, a big beach, restrooms, picnic tables, and room to fish. It’s always a great time and is packed with happy people in the summer time
Not the best experience here! We were going to stop here on memorial day, but they were charging NULL per vehicle (out of state) for the holiday, but it’s free during the week. So we went the next day for free.
But it turned out to not be so great – it wasn’t too well maintained in certain areas, the paths were rocky, and it was filled with mosquitoes!! We were there for only 10 minutes and got attacked by mosquitoes and left.
I won’t rate it much lower than 3 stars because we didn’t really have a full experience of the place. But based on what we experienced, it wasn’t so good!
January 2nd. 2023. And temperature high 60’s. We stopped in for a walk. Along the bayside. It’s surprisingly beautiful. And we able walk down to the sand beach. The sand there are very clean and soft. Better than many beach sand from ocean. The park has BBQ grill and many tables. Warm weather made me think about fishing.
Great park. Beach is nice and well maintained. There is a 12-15 min walk to the beach through a wooded trail, east walk. It had rained the night before we went to the park so the trail was muddy and wet throughout. Would recommend shoes for the trail. No bathrooms at the beach area but are conveniently located by the parking lot. Closets Parking lot to the beach is small, expect to park at the further lots.
There is a steep entrance fee of NULL for out of county residents. Would love to go again but the fee is excessive.
