This place is a nice place to hike a steep and scenic climb right close to the city. The trail can get crowded on weekends, but there are multiple trailheads here to spread the crowds out. The main thing here is the Vital Link Trail, which is steep but a switchbacky easy workout.

Wildwood Canyon has some steep trails, but the payoff is beautiful views of Burbank and Glendale. The path is well-maintained, and I liked that it wasn’t overly busy compared to Griffith. I brought my dog, and there were plenty of shaded spots to rest. The hike gave me just enough of a workout without being overwhelming. Perfect for a quick evening adventure

I came in from Wildwood Canyon Park, and i hiked to the Vital Link Trail, and i hiked to Verdugo Peak. This is a hard difficulty hike, please bring 1 full gallon of water if you plan on doing the full 6 mile hike. Plenty of parking and restrooms are at the entrance of the park.

This trail is quiet, well-kept, and gives you fantastic views of the Valley without the Griffith Park crowds. I did the loop around 7 a.m. and it was mostly locals with dogs or runners. No facilities, but there’s a small lot and free street parking. Good incline for a short workout and a peaceful vibe throughout. Bring water—there’s not much shade

Underrated hiking gem by the Glendale area away from noise pollution. If taking the Vital Link trail, prepare for calves and heart conditioning for the next 10-90 minutes. Great views of the Los Angeles valley.
