🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located in the heart of Burbank, Johnny Carson Park is a favorite community green space surrounded by the city’s bustling studio row. Perfect for dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails and shaded walks, this park is well-maintained with open grassy areas, tall mature trees, and plenty of spots to relax with your furry companion. While it is not a dedicated dog park, Johnny Carson Park welcomes leashed dogs and provides a peaceful retreat from city life complete with scenic walking and jogging paths, a small creek, and picnic tables for a social outing or picnic with your pup.
With amenities like clean restrooms, children’s playgrounds, exercise circuits, and multi-use sports fields, the park is ideal for families and pet owners alike. There’s ample shade, off-street parking, and many benches throughout the park, making it easy to enjoy time outdoors. While dogs must remain leashed, visitors appreciate the friendly atmosphere, community events, and opportunities to connect with nature right in Burbank.
Went here for the Fall Festival. It was ok. It was more of a mini festival.
For example, as far as food trucks went, there were only 2. One served burgers, fries, nachos, and soda, and the other served popsicles. I was relieved they even had those because at first I thought there weren’t any food trucks at all.
When I first went into the park, I wasn’t even sure where the festival was. I just followed the people in front of me. We all followed the sound of a live band playing.
Once we found the band, we could see a row of tents opposite of them.
The tents were mostly for sign ups to performing arts for both children and adults, that’s why I thought there wasn’t any food. Then I realized the 2 food trucks were parked on the road close to the row of tents.
Even the number of portable restrooms available was small, only 3, but again, better than none at all.
As far as festivals go, you get what you pay for and since this one was free from parking to entrance, don’t expect much.
It’s still something to do and a good excuse to spend some time at the park with nice weather.
As for the park itself, it’s clean and a way to enjoy nature in the city. There are even plaques talking about the L.A. River and a bridge to go over the water. Just know that you’ll hear the constant sound of cars because of the nearby freeway.
Plus, it being Burbank, you can’t help but be surrounded by the entertainment industry. The park itself is named after late night host Johnny Carson, you can see the ABC skyscraper over the treetops, and when you see the mountain with the radio tower on top, you know you’re looking at the backside of the Hollywood sign.
I had the opportunity to come by this beautiful area- Johnny Carson Park. Lots of nice paths to walk on, beautiful green grass, lots of trees providing shade, tables and barbecues. I highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Nice small park with walking/jogging trails. Restrooms are near the kids playground area. A small creek runs through part of the park. Several picnic tables are along the trails. On my walk around the trail I noticed several squirrels, birds, and one rabbit by the creek bridge. Place is nicely maintained.
Beautiful and lovely park, clean restrooms(in my opinion), many tables to sit at and plenty of shade to sit under. The slide and swings are so much fun! They even have a little book box which was so neat. There’s also a baby changing table in the women’s bathroom.
(btw my review is more on moms taking their kids to the park playground/bathroom aspect) 🩷🩷🩷
