Gary Mattson Dog Park in Buffalo, MN is a favorite local spot for dog owners who want a spacious area for their dogs to socialize and play. This large, well-maintained grassy area is fully fenced, allowing for safe off-leash fun. The park is wheelchair accessible and features picnic tables, making it a welcoming community space for both people and pets. Dog owners often appreciate the clean environment and the strong sense of community.
Situated right by the lake, you can enjoy scenic views and even access water for your dog by walking down to the shore from the fenced-in area. While amenities are people-friendly with seating and picnic areas, it’s a good idea to bring water for your pet or use the hose located across the parking lot. Shade is limited due to a lack of mature trees, but the open space is perfect for running and play.
It’s a nice well taken care of fenced in dog park. You can fill the water buckets across the parking lot. Use the hose that is off in the tall grass, and replace it when you are done.
My dog and I didn’t like this park compared to other dog parks we’ve been to. Three rivers park system has beautiful parks with trails you can walk. Here, it’s a fenced in yard. Just grass, hardly any trees. Not much to explore and my dog who’s all about going to the park just wanted to leave. It looks like funding went into people centric structures like the picnic area and such when it should have went into more for dogs to do.
Awesome dog park, it floods in the heavy rain but the dogs loved it more than normal!
Seems like it’s very clean – what a great community effort!
Wish there were more dog toys maybe like ramps or tunnels or something.
Great place to go with an active little guy! Kobe is my grand-pup. His mom and dad were on vacay. We had a good time together!
My dog has so much fun playing with all the other dogs. And what a huge space. It’s right by the lake. Bring water for your dog though unless you walk them down to the lake which you can get to from the fenced in area.
