Lake of the Woods is a serene and naturally beautiful spot located in Browns Mills, NJ, making it an ideal destination for dog owners who appreciate pet-friendly trails and outdoor adventures. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and scenic views of the lake, it’s a favorite local getaway for fishing, kayaking, and walking with your pup. The park is largely untouched, offering a more rustic escape for those wanting to enjoy the outdoors with their dogs.
The area features several hiking paths—though not all form complete loops—making it a good choice for those looking for dog-friendly hikes in Browns Mills. Families will appreciate the park’s kid-friendliness, and the newly rebuilt dam and added solar aeration technology have enhanced the lake’s health and overall visitor experience. It’s an excellent spot for a leisurely walk, peaceful escape, or a day of fishing. Please note there are no restrooms, tables, or camping facilities at this location.
Wish there was an actual trail to run. There seemed to be random trails with dead ends. Doesn’t go around the lake. Great place to fish.
My favorite lake. No camping, no campfire, no restrooms, or tables.
The Lake of the Woods is a quiet and serene place to visit. This is is pretty close to where I live and I tend to come back here in on a pretty regular basis just to get away from the all the noise of the day. The Dam/roadway across the lake has recently been rebuilt which gives this place a whole new look and feel. Some ew solar technology has even been added to the lake to increase aeration and improve the health of the lake. Definitely stop by here for some fishing or just a quick, quiet place to visit.
Nice lake for fishing. Kayaking and the like. Your required to have a NJ fishing license and a special permit from the Department of Defense to fish any lake or pond on base property. They will check for it and fines will be heavy.
Took my dog for a walk once at a park near Murrow lake and winded up at this “diamond in the ruff” lake. Untouched for the most part by man. I hope my post doesn’t invite polluters. Keep it nice.
