FAQ for Police Officer John G. Scarangella Park in Brooklyn NY:
the d train going by is a bit of a distraction, but its not overcrowded. it has a shaded part of the park to avoid too much sun. the small park is in dire need of revamping and updating of the facilities needed, like a bathroom and benches.
The playground side of the park definitely needs a renovation. For some reason the sprinklers were still on at 10pm – I’ve seen this multiple times. The turf field is nice and spacious, lots of soccer here. The track around the field is pretty mediocre – the corners are very sharp. The playground across the street that just got renovated is way nicer to lounge around at.

To whom it may concern; the area to play soccer is very clean and beautiful (although it is the part that I do not visit) but .. the area of โโthe playground is a disaster !! It needs an urgent renovation .. they should put bathrooms the slides and the other “attractions” need to update the floor a real danger for children when it rains that floods .. (I had to see a child of around 7 or 8 years old that running He fell silent and injured his elbow and knee with the same floor, hopefully he would pay attention to my request …(I HOPE SOMEONE WHO VISITS THIS SAME PARK, CAN SHARE PHOTOS OF HOW THE PARK IS LIKE)
Park is outdated and in need of a major make over. Track and soccer field happens to be the most attractive ways to spend time there. NYC Parks Department has some of the worst parks in the world
Not bad place – good for children but the problem is – too close an elevated D train line does too much noisy… But the biggest issue is that no restroom here.
