Pat Parlato Playground, located in the heart of Brooklyn, NY at Falmouth St. & Oriental Blvd, is a popular destination for families, dog owners, and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a vibrant, pet-friendly community space. The park is just steps from the beach, offering visitors access to scenic ocean views and refreshing breezes. It’s renowned for its newly renovated playground areas, which include a splash pad, swings, slides, and basketball and tennis courts. For pet owners, the vast fields and tranquil trails provide excellent dog-friendly walking opportunities. While there isn’t a dedicated, fenced dog run, leashed dogs are welcome throughout much of the open space, especially near the McGuire field and rolling lawns.
The park’s standout features include plentiful seating, water fountains, public restrooms, and ample parking around the fields complex—ensuring a comfortable visit year-round. Owners can enjoy a stroll with their pets, participate in recreational sports, or simply relax while their children play. Its close proximity to Paerdegat beach and a roller hockey rink makes it an inviting urban escape for both canine companions and their families. With regular maintenance, organized community events, and pet-friendly trainers like Yana frequently offering services here, Pat Parlato Playground stands out as a welcoming, all-ages activity hub in Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Bay neighborhood.
Beautiful area with a Beach steps away! They also allow making a BBQ which is very rare with most beaches.
good playground, there is a beach and parking nearby. the playground is clean and there is a public toilet. In the summer, sprinklers are used to help children cool down in hot weather. there is a place to play basketball and tennis
Its great place to play and relaxes because it’s near the ocean
It’s a very fun playground with a really nice beach where you can just relax or have an amazing barbecue, mostly in the summer there is a big palm tree that sprays water everywhere and it’s really fun to just run around it, the people here are mostly kids, but some are teens and college students. In conclusion, if there was a literal definition of a fun playground, this would be it! 🙂
Amazing playground. 3 different areas and lots of swings. A water fountain area too. Only complaint is there should be more trees to shade it as it gets incredibly hot but it is right next to the beach so I can overlook that.
