Willowtown Community Dog Run is a small, quiet, and wheelchair accessible dog park ideal for quick off-leash visits. It features natural ground for digging, some concrete ‘tubes’ for play, and benches for seating. The park is narrow in shape, giving dogs space to run, but may feel cramped with multiple dogs. It is not suitable after rain due to flooding issues. There is an outer gate with a proper latch and an inner gate held by concrete. The park offers a low-distraction environment perfect for dogs with limited off-leash experience.

So small and flooded

Don’t go after a rainy day!

I really like this small dog run. It has a long skinny shape, so there’s room for my dog to get up to full speed when we play fetch, despite the small area. There’s also benches, the community garden next door to sniff at, and some bags of toys at the entrance in case you forgot to bring your own. It’s pretty quiet and out-of-the-way, which is nice, and unlike some other small dog runs in the area, the natural ground is exposed, so your dog can dig if they want. I think this would be a good place to bring your dog if you don’t have much off-leash experience, as the distraction level is low.

I’ve only been here in the summer, and the center is low-lying and does collect water when it’s wet out. The inner gate is also a bit janky; there’s no functioning latch, so the door is just held in place with a chunk of concrete. (The outer gate has a proper working latch though.)

I usually go in the morning, so we often have the place to ourselves. I imagine the space might not be so great with more than a few dogs present, as the narrow width could make it a bit cramped for rambunctious multi-dog play.

If you want a big area for your dog to socialize and play with many other dogs, go up the hill to Hillside Dog Park. This dog run is a pretty nice place to stop on a walk though.

Recently upgraded with new stones and concrete “tubes” for the dogs to run thru. It’s small but perfect for a quick morning or evening off-leash experience. Our dog loves coming here and it’s never crowded.
