FYI, it is now called Shirley Chisolm State Park. It’s still under construction. Therefore, more to come which will make it a 5-star location. They just need to make stations for the fishermen/women/people to use, so that they don’t leave fish blood and guts all over the nice new white picnic tables.

I went here with friends last summer. The site seemed to be well maintained and I haven’t seen much trash around the vicinity. As for the murder, I’m hoping that they do provide more security around the bike paths, but, regardless this place looked beautiful to me and is not worth one star from that little incident, and the best thing to do when going to any park in general is to go out during the daylight and with a friend. You’re more safe with more around you than compared to being alone.
