Discover Ridgewood Reservoir, a peaceful escape and one of the unique dog-friendly parks in Brooklyn, New York. The park features scenic walking and hiking trails perfect for leashed walks with your dog, lush green spaces for picnics, and tranquil surroundings that make it a favorite spot for nature lovers and pet owners alike. Surrounded by trees and birdlife, it’s an excellent spot to relax, study, or simply enjoy the outdoors with your furry companion.
While it doesn’t have dedicated off-leash or fenced dog areas, its extensive nature trails offer plenty of space for long walks and exploration. Ridgewood Reservoir is especially beautiful during spring, summer, and fall, providing shaded spots beneath mature trees. Please note that the park is fairly secluded and is more easily accessed by car, with visitors advised to go in groups, especially in the early morning or late evenings for safety. It’s a pet-friendly oasis in the city, ideal for peaceful outings and dog-friendly hiking adventures.
Ehhhh, it’s a good walk.
This is my favorite place to go. The birds, picnic tables ,ball field, and trails to ride your bike lay down with a blanket have a picnic anenjoy all the trees.
I remember cutting school and coming here on some exploration $h!÷ in the 7ds. It still has that allure, that sense of peace.. I will definitely find more time here to relax/study.
It’s really nice to walk here in the spring, summer, and fall. It’s just so incredibly inconvenient to get here without a car.
Glad to see something like this in Queens , in NYC. But it definitely doesn’t seem to be safe enough to be walking/running alone esp during early morning or late evenings. Always go in a pair or group since it’s pretty secluded and quiet. But worth the visit as we don’t have spaces like this in the city.
