Ecology Park, located on Bergen Ave in Brooklyn, NY, is a quiet and serene haven perfect for dog owners seeking scenic trails and beautiful views. This dog-friendly park features two short boardwalk walking trails (0.1 and 0.2 miles) surrounded by wetlands, offering pet owners and their furry companions panoramic sights of the Paerdegat Basin, local marinas, and even the Manhattan skyline. The park is in a predominantly residential neighborhood, which makes for a calm and laid-back outing with easy street parking and less hustle than typical city parks.
With its well-maintained, accessible wooden paths and picturesque waterside views, the park is ideal for dog walks, easy hikes, and peaceful relaxation. Benches are available for owners to relax while their pets stretch their legs. The area is clean, cared for, and particularly stunning in the afternoons as the sun reflects off the water. Although it doesn’t offer large picnic spaces or extensive amenities specific to dogs, its tranquil atmosphere and proximity to nature make it a unique spot for pet-friendly trails in Brooklyn.

It’s a really nice place, although it’s not that big. It’s a great place to give some running loops. The view is amazing, especially in the afternoon. The sun hits directly on the water and looks spectacular. I’m sure lots of people don’t even know this exists. There are also some benches for sitting. Overall, it’s a nice place, but maybe not big enough to do a picnic and stuff. But if you live nearby, you must give it a visit.

I was lucky to have the park open on Sunday (especially that it is impossible to find out its expected open hours online). Boardwalk and trees/bushes surrounding it are beautiful and look well-cared. Nice view of the basin. I can understand why visit hours restrictions are in place since there were clear signs of vandalism (burnt bench and boardwalk under it).

Beautiful park. Love coming here 💕. It is accessible, clean, and quiet ❤️. Additionally, the view of Manhattan is gorgeous.

Nice park with wooden boardwalk type path to explore wetland area with very biodiverse plants, good chance to see birds, butterflies etc. Volunteered a few times to help cut back the invasive plants in deeper areas.
Park is only open like Thurs-Fri-Sat till 2:30
Protip: if you have a scooter with bigger wheels, the path has a mild slope, its like riding a wooden rollercoaster
