Honestly, these are the best hot dogs in all of New York. The bun, the sausage, the mix of flavors, the way they’re prepared… everything is truly on another level. The person who served us —I imagine he’s the owner— was super friendly. You can really tell when people put passion into what they do. Highly recommended!
I’m happy that I finally found a place that serves great Chicago dogs in NYC. I’ll definitely return to try the other options on the menu.
Dog Day is a truly special place and the reason I moved to the neighborhood. I otherwise consider myself a vegetarian of 8 years. These hot dogs are divine any time of the year, but here’s my advice:On a crisp fall day, don’t eat until 2pm. Have two Chicago dogs and a milkshake, then walk through the park. A cure-all.Last October I had a great conversation with a zombie witch who shared my table. It told me to always, always answer when I hear the hot dogs calling. Sometimes I hear the dog’s call ringing through Greenwood Cemetery treetops at night and I have to wait up all night in a cold sweat praying for noon to arrive.
solis Chicago hot dog, neon green relish and all. has the look and feel of a family run hole-in-the-wall, in the best way possible. not the spot you’d take your in-laws, but maybe the spot you’d take your street food loving hipster partner. still savoring the tang of the spicy peppers.
The hot dog was……a hot dog. Fresh ingredients, good proportion. I enjoyed the service, very pleasant young man tending the counter. Just not sure a hot dog is worth a whooping NULL 🤔. Glad I tried it, but……. very replicable hot dog.
