DiMattina Dog Run

DiMattina Dog Run is a spacious and well-maintained dog park in Brooklyn with two main fenced sections that can be opened into one large area, offering plenty of shade, seating, and water fountains for both dogs and their owners. The park mainly features dirt and gravel surfaces with some grassy areas. It attracts an active community of dog owners, though the park can become very muddy and less usable in rainy conditions. While there are no separate dedicated areas for small or large dogs, the multiple gated spaces allow some flexibility. It is wheelchair accessible and kid-friendly, making it a great option for local dog owners.
Reviews
Dusty and dirty for sure, but a lovely large space for the area with three separate spaces with gates to close them off from each other if need be. Dogs of all sizes come here; there aren’t designated small/large dog areas but if necessary one of the spaces can be used. Love this spot!
Generally a great option although the dirt makes for a really filthy dog when they’re done playing. The park is completely unusable in rainy/inclement weather. There are almost always several throwing arm things and plenty of balls around (although I generally just bring my own).
Local tip* Water shuts off during the winter so don’t forget a little water bottle for heavy play sessions.
Nice and shaddy, enough space for dogs to run, cleanish, not busy, lots of water, trees, Rocky ground
Next to the BQE, this park is surprisingly well cared for. Fairly spacious with a dirt and gravel surface, lots of room for romping around. Fairly active on the weekends but pretty empty mid-day during the week. Lots of shade and benches for people’s comfort and water fountains to keep the pups cool. There are berry trees though so have to keep an eye that your pup isnt munching.
Lovely dog park with two sections (optionally, the doors between them are usually open), with water for the dogs, plenty of shade and seating for the humans.
It is mainly dirt, but there is a grassy area.
Consistently filled with dogs, especially in the morning, with a lovely community of owners too!
Only downside: in the rain it turns into a lake. When it rains I go to the pebble dog park on pier 6.
