Nestled in Brooklyn Heights, Adam Yauch Park is a vibrant and welcoming green space that serves both local families and dog owners. Known for its whimsical bear statues, shaded seating spots, and waterfront proximity, this park is popular for casual strolls, relaxing picnics, and early morning walks with your dog. Visitors appreciate the splash pad (especially on hot days), and the park’s landscaping provides ample shade—making it comfortable for both dogs and their humans throughout the year.
Adam Yauch Park offers a peaceful community vibe, ideal for pet parents searching for pet-friendly trails and dog-friendly activities in Brooklyn. While it’s not exclusively a dog park, it’s frequently visited by dog owners and walkers, and you’ll find clean walkways, benches, and open grassy areas for play. Its unique location near the waterfront allows for scenic views and a relaxing ambience, creating a truly special spot for dog owners in New York City.
Great park! In memory of Adam Yauch 🕊️🤍
I love that he played here as a child. The park is your local childhood playground. Located in Brooklyn Heights. Whimsical bear statues and the sound of the train nearby bring an ambiance you can only find in Brooklyn.
Adam Yauch Park, or as my friends call it Bear Park (after the statues of bears inside), is a great park for whatever people want in a park. It has amazing basketball courts that for some reason you can always find them free, and has to be the only place in NYC like that. Even the playground, geared towards kids, is really fun to hang out in. Overall, if in the neighbourhood, do visit this park.
It was normal small park with a splash pad area and play equipment for kids. Nice shady spot.
What a great little hidden park for people with kids and dogs. We were out for a long walk on the waterfront and my dog was so hot and dirty. I was so happy to see the spraying water fountain and we went and played in it to cool down. I will definitely make this a more regular spot on our trips out!
