Located at 223 Duffield St, Abolitionist Place Dog Park is a small but much-needed green space for pet owners in downtown Brooklyn, New York. While the park is compact in size, it offers essential amenities such as a secure fenced area, benches for seating, a water station for dogs, and complimentary poop bags to keep the area clean. It’s a convenient option for local residents and their dogs, especially for those living in the surrounding high-density neighborhoods.
The dog park boasts plenty of shade, which is appreciated during the summer months, making it a comfortable spot for both pets and their owners. Though the gravel and sand surface can make paws a little dusty, the park is kept clean and is the only designated dog run in the immediate area. If you’re looking for a quick off-leash break for your dog in downtown Brooklyn, this spot is a practical choice.

Convenient dog park and I love the shade during the summer. Has poop bags and water station and places to sit. But it’s pretty small and I don’t love the gravel since it makes my dog get all dusty and dirty. Also when the dogs play together they kick up tiny rocks and dust

They could’ve done something better but perhaps lack of space they created the tiniest dog run. It seems that getting sun here is near impossible with the tall buildings surrounding it. Wouldn’t recommend taking your dog here unless you live close by.

Clean, secure, and has water access. Glad to have this new spot in a convenient location.

This is the only dog park in the area. I am happy that the residents have one, at least. But it is very small, not proportioned at all to the big Abolitionist Park, and has sand/gravel mixture that looks more like cat litter.
