Eastern Beach offers a unique and peaceful getaway for dog owners seeking a quiet, natural setting in Brooklin, ME. This picturesque, rocky and gravel beach sits at the end of a scenic, wooded trail, creating the perfect backdrop for pet-friendly hikes and relaxing days by the water. While there are no formal amenities such as water fountains or restrooms, the area is known for its solitude, natural charm, and abundant wildlife, making it ideal for birding, hiking, and exploring with your dog.
Dog owners visiting Eastern Beach will appreciate the open space where leashed dogs can enjoy the long walk and the shoreline. The park is quiet and typically uncrowded, with parking available about a half mile away, though it’s important to be prepared for ticks and mosquitos along the trail. The cold water at the beach is inviting for adventurous pups and people alike, and the site is also great for picnics and taking in the scenic Maine coastline. Note, the beach is not wheelchair accessible, and there are no fenced dog areas or designated small/large dog sections.
Birding, mossing, marine algae, many lichens
A small parking lot and a fairly long walk bring you to a rock and gravel beach. Swim, watch the boats go by, do nothing, have a picnic. Water is cold, but that’s a good thing.
I didn’t see one tick or mosquito. Maybe me wonder if the “private” people want to keep this wonderful scenic spot all for themselves. Totally worth the effort!
Amazing beach, very quiet and dog friendly.
Beware: the walk from the parking lot to the beach is filled with ticks and mosquitos. Mandatory tick check for yourself and your dog after!
There is parking about a half mile away off the road. Walk through the woods and take a right to get this rocky, deserted, beautiful beach. No services of any kind.
