Brookings Dog Park offers a large, grassy open area with mature shade trees, making it perfect for dogs to stretch their legs and play off-leash. Conveniently located at 929 4th St, this dog park in Brookings, South Dakota, is highly accessible with wheelchair-friendly entrances and parking. The park is regularly maintained and known for its cleanliness and inviting atmosphere, giving both residents and travelers a reliable spot for their pups to exercise.
The park features benches for dog owners, abundant shade from large trees, and ample space for dogs of all sizes to run. While some visitors have noted the grass can occasionally get long, most appreciate the overall upkeep and the chance to let their dogs explore in a safe environment. Brookings Dog Park is a great option whether you’re a local or just passing through needing a pet-friendly stop for your four-legged companions.
My only complaint is that the grass is a bit long but as soon as it is cut I would give five stars
Large and nice grass and huge trees lots room for the dogs to run around my dog really loved it.
My poor travel weary pups were excited to have a spot to stretch their legs. We traveled from Canada and try to hit a dog park wherever we go. But Sadly all the campsites are reserved )even though there are only 4 campers there. It makes it hard to use the dog park if you want to visit the area. Luckily the local Walmart very generously has a spot for Travelers, but it’s about a mile from the dog park. Brookings, SD you could do better! Why let people book sites they aren’t using and turn away tired travellers?
The place was empty except for my two small dogs. It was an open lot. Unless you bring your own dog toys, the dogs will be bored after about 15 minutes exploring the perimeter. It was the first nice day in Brookings with no one taking their dogs to this park. I live by the 7th Avenue South Dog Park in Brookings and it was also dead.
This is a very nice dog park. There are some nice benches, but it’s of course mostly open space for pups to run. No other dogs when we were there, but still lovely. You can tell that it’s taken care of very well. It had been freshly mown when we stopped by, and the park was extremely clean. It’s extremely spacious and conveniently located!
