Nestled at the edge of Van Cortlandt Park, Oneida Run offers a welcoming, well-maintained dog park for Bronx dog owners seeking a fun, safe, and dog-friendly spot. Featuring newer gate styles, benches, and a split design, this park stands out with its dedicated areas that likely separate big and small dogs, providing a pleasant space for all pups. The finely grounded sand underfoot keeps paws clean and cool, while nearby pet-friendly trails invite longer walks in nature. Plenty of side street parking makes visiting easy, and families can also enjoy playgrounds and basketball courts nearby, making it a great pick for a full day out in the Bronx.
Locals rave about the community feel, responsible dog ownership, and regular maintenance. Friendly regulars and engaged visitors make for a lively, enjoyable experience, though bringing bug spray is recommended due to seasonal mosquitoes. With off-leash freedom in a safely gated environment and easy access to Van Cortlandt’s vast trails, Oneida Run is a top choice for social pups and their people looking for a dog park in Bronx, NY with both relaxation and adventure nearby.
Great park to play basketball, bring your dogs, to go on a hiking trail or to relax and have fun! Nice, clean and well kept areas. Plenty of free side street parking, and playground areas for the kiddos.
Love the Woodlawn dog run area the most! It’s so well maintained and that’s pretty impressive. Being able to let the pups off the leash to run free is so exciting if you live in the city and don’t have a backyard or terrace. It’s not like typical dog parks, bc of the newer gate styles, benches, and the vertical positioning makes it a good amount of area for the dogs to run back and forth. Additionally, it’s like a two for one deal because it’s split down the middle by concrete and fencing, so probably everyone can enjoy the park without conflict between different dog types.
The finely grounded sand feels good to stand on and probably stays cool in the summers and doesn’t get the dogs paws too messy.
Definitely worth a stop by if you’re in the area!

So, the park is okay some of the people there today 9/13/24 6:00pm were extremely rude in the way they made me feel. Understood my dogs aren’t neutered but I train them and have had them go to many dog parks with no issues. I definitely would recommend telling the lady Geraldin to stop acting like she owns the park. And if the dogs can’t play nice maybe they shouldn’t be at the dog park. It’s for all dogs not just select dogs.

Great dog park! Very well maintained and always full of friendly people with their dogs. Our doggies love it here. It’s also right near an entrance to Van Cortlandt park trails.

Cute little park with two dog parks in it. im assuming its one for the big dog and another for the little ones and the trail goes pretty long LOADS OF MOSQUITO so bring plenty of bug spray. Definitely look into the park I believe this trail goes to the back of Van courtland please dont hold me against it not sure, but Ill definitely look into it for sure other than that I think its cute. Have to find parking alot of the times I go and there is but if i habe to say one day the most everything was on top of each other and count find nothing to walk my dog, so I took her to the next park, you know better lucky next time for her but definitely worth the going they got benches to sit and sometimes the dog watering pump works but i bring my own water for my dog just in case of anything.
