Big Aspen Trail is a popular destination for dog owners looking for pet-friendly hiking and outdoor adventures near Britt, Minnesota. Featuring scenic trails ideal for hiking, running, and even ATV exploration, this spot regularly draws locals and visitors who love enjoying nature with their furry friends. The trails are generally easy to traverse, making it an excellent choice for beginners, families, and those looking for a quick outdoor escape.
With expansive wooded paths and scenic overlooks, Big Aspen Trail offers plenty of space for leashed walks amidst beautiful northern Minnesota landscape. The large parking lot adds convenience for visitors, and the area is well-loved year-round for summer strolls, winter snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Dog owners are advised to bring bug spray, backpacks, and wear blaze orange (along with their pets) during hunting season to ensure everyone’s safety.
Great trails to walk/hike with dogs. But please, if enjoying the trails while it’s a hunting season (anytime between September & December) please wear blaze orange same with your dogs to be safe! Many people hunt the areas around these trails.
Great place for a hike, just don’t forget a backpack and bug spray
One of my go to places for some quick hikes and awesome scenery!
Awesome place to run or go wheeling in the summer. As far as I know there is grooming in the winter for snowshoeing and XC skiing.
Overall, excellent trails that are easy to ride – a great place to get accustomed to a new ATV or side-by-side. Large parking lot. In the summer, trees are frequently blown down over the trails, so either bring a chainsaw to remove them yourself, or, be prepared to backtrack to other trails to work around the blocked area. While there is no shelter building at the “Shelter” location, it’s a nice scenic overlook – a great place to stop for lunch or a break when riding.
I recommend these trails – excellent.
