Beautiful trail by the pemiguassett river. I swear this river is as big as the Charles river in Boston. This area was the site of many mills that used the river and surrounding rivers for power in the 1800s. The remaining foundations of these factories are a reminder of bristol’s rich history and man’s harnessing of nature’s power for his own endeavors. I believe at one point the army corp or engineers built these stone walls by the river to reduce erosion and the impacts of flooding. I didn’t go down the whole trail but I definitely want to in the future.
