Oakdale Park is a pet-friendly haven located in Bridgewater, Virginia, perfect for families and dog owners seeking a blend of outdoor activities and scenic relaxation. Dog owners will appreciate the park’s open trails and pet-friendly policies, allowing for leashed walks through charming landscapes and around large pastures. The park is regularly maintained and offers plenty of parking, public restrooms, shade, and various picnic areas. Although pet waste stations are limited on new trails, convenience and cleanliness remain high priorities throughout the park. Whether you’re looking for dog-friendly hiking, a place for your pet to explore, or a delightful spot in Bridgewater for a day out, Oakdale Park is a top choice.
Brand new trails opened, up the hill E and around a large pasture. Only things lacking on the new trail so far are pet waste bag dispensers and garbage cans. I carry my own bags for the dog doo but picked up some garbage already left along the trail. Fantastic amenity built by the retirement community!
Otherwise this park already has the other amenities; ball fields, rest rooms, playground, and picnic areas, and is dog friendly.
I visited the park for a cycling event organized by Shenandoah Bicycling Association. We enjoyed several shelters which served as a rest stop and for lunch break. I didn’t venture into other areas of the park but I observed a nice playground and several basketball and tennis courts nearby. Seems like a great place for families and athletic activities for the local community to enjoy.
Nice park but could use more bathrooms
Very nice facility. Plenty of parking. Fields in good condition
Nice little park. There are walkways for hiking, or just walking or riding your bike. Interesting playground, and several sports fields, including basketball and baseball – looks like little league. Also a track for running or walking. And a pretty little lake.
