🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
If you’re searching for a clean, welcoming place to enjoy time outdoors with your dog and family, Herbertsville Park is a hidden gem in Brick Township, New Jersey. Known for its spacious fields, playgrounds, and paved walking path, this park is a great spot for dog owners who enjoy pet-friendly trails and scenic walks. While the park does not feature a dedicated off-leash dog area, the well-maintained loops and open spaces make it perfect for leashed walks, exercise, and socializing your pet in a friendly suburban environment.
The park boasts exceptionally clean grounds, two playgrounds for different age groups, basketball courts, and a paved path ideal for biking or dog-friendly hiking. With benches scattered throughout and a beautiful open field for relaxing or playing, Herbertsville Park is a favorite for both local residents and their furry companions. However, visitors should note the absence of restrooms and water fountains, so bringing your own water is recommended.
Great park, close by, rarely crowded and with a short walking path loop which gets the job done with the reservoir closed until next year. My kids loved it until they became teenagers and outgrew parks.

Basketball courts, baseball field, and playground. Hiking trails that also connect to Sawmill Trail. Trails can be used for biking and dog walks too. Just wish there was a water fountain. Maybe I missed it.

So clean it’s nearly spotless. There are two small playground areas, one for ages 2-5, and one for ages 5-12. And I mean “small” as in two play apparatuses in the younger one, and four in the older one.
There are two basketball courts next to these. Extremely clean here too.
There is a BIG field outside of this area, probably 100-150 yards just eyeballing it, where your kids can burn some energy. A baseball field sits in the corner, and a paved walking path runs from the playground all the way around this field and back.
Plenty of benches to sit at, both inside the play areas, and around the paved brick walkway between them.
No restrooms here.
