Nestled in Brentwood, California, Marsh Creek Trail Head is a welcoming destination for outdoor enthusiasts and their canine companions. This peaceful park is known for its well-maintained, paved paths and shady areas—making it an excellent choice for pet-friendly walking, cycling, or dog-friendly hiking. Local dog owners appreciate the natural beauty, interpretive signage, and the tranquil ambiance, perfect for escaping the city while remaining close to home. Abundant trees provide shade even on sunny days, and there are benches for resting.
While Marsh Creek Trail Head is a top spot for walking with your dog, please note that leash rules are strictly enforced—dogs must remain leashed at all times. Amenities include new and clean public restrooms, trash cans, plenty of parking, and scenic views along the creek where turtles and other wildlife can sometimes be spotted. Whether you’re planning a family outing or a quiet stroll with your pup, this dog-friendly park in Brentwood is a local favorite for relaxation and recreation.
Quiet paved path, much more shaded in morning hours. Mostly level with underpasses on city streets or intersections. Turtles can be spotted in the creek from foot bridges. Not yet seen a mink. There are interpretive signs and shaded bench areas. Please use available trashcans! Litter in the creek is ugly, unsanitary and dangerous to wildlife. Be mindful as the trail runs the edge of people’s unfenced quiet and clean neighborhoods.
The cool thing about Marsh Creek Trail is you can go in a variety of directions. One goes along Sand Creek and behind some buildings as the mcdonalds
Another is more suburban and takes you through parks and houses. The third goes under Balfour and through a huge park and along Veteran’s Park.
You can go one way one time and another a different outing.
Amazing beautiful place. Great for biking highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful walk, paths are smoothly paved and now there are new bathrooms built near the park very clean for public restrooms. Highly recommend.
Now that they smoothed out the section between Balfour and Dainty it’s perfect for cycling. I absolutely love riding on this trail. Concord Ave. in Brentwood to Big Break in Oakley and back is 23 miles
Cute trail in the city. Love how it goes under the intersections!! Fun artwork and signage 😉
