Small fenced in rectangle, seemed like a good spot for the local community people but not one I’d travel to check out.

Best dog park in all of New Haven. Dogs are amazingly friendly and owners are great too. It’s clean and tick free. Has a water fountain during warmer months. Plenty of space for dogs to run around.

If your dog doesn’t like all dogs, don’t bring them to the dog park. My dog has been ganged up on and dogs have come up to her to instigate fights the last few times we have taken her. Owners make you feel like your dogs the problem not their dog who started the fight. This used to be a none issue and we used to come all the time. Not coming back till people use some common sense.

Update: was just reading a Facebook post about this dog park and a puppy was attacked here last week from an unvaccinated dog. The owner did nothing to stop the dog and is not taking responsibility for his actions. Owner is a tall man in his 70’s with gray hair who has a black lab with white on face. Picture of dog below. Don’t go to this park while irresponsible owners are out!

Google lists this as “our park”, but you can see from the signs that this is the Short Beach Dog Park.

Small park located behind a community building. The park was an ice rink – looks like it might be dirt with some grass in the other seasons.
Water fountain for the dogs in non-freezing months. Bags and trash.
