This was our first—and definitely our last—trip to this stinky town. The beach badges were more expensive than those at Belmar Beach, which is only half a mile away. We received a hefty fine for parking in a spot that was marked as “free parking” on Google Maps. There were no clear signs to indicate that payment was required like other similar parking lots. Instead, there was only a marking on the ground that said “parking mobile,” which we only noticed after the police officer pointed it out. The cops seemed very busy going around ticketing cars—it felt like this was just a way for the town to make money. Our beach day was completely ruined!

If only the town would give us resident stickers to put on our car. We live on the free residential side and cannot leave our house for fear we will have to park down the block, around the corner or worse PAY. My taxes are already high & getting higher. It’s not fair to people who live here to have to finagle the way we park at our house so we can come back! It just sucks!
