🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
The Underground Dog Park is a unique, hidden gem nestled under the Route 93 overpasses in Boston, MA. This urban dog park cleverly transforms unused city space into a creative and pet-friendly destination for local pups and their owners. Not only is the location equipped with beautiful murals and urban art, but it also benefits from overhead shelter, making it a year-round option, rain or shine. The park is fully wheelchair accessible and offers walking paths, a small river nearby, and a cleverly designed dog run for off-leash play. It’s especially appreciated for its cool, “underground” vibe and close proximity to other recreational activities like a pickleball court.
Dog owners will find benches, actual chairs, and a raised mound for energetic dogs to run on, plus a supply of poop bags. Though the park is well maintained and generally clean, it is known to get crowded midday, especially when multiple dog walkers visit. Its atmosphere, convenient location, and clever use of space make it one of the most distinctive dog parks in Boston for those seeking urban adventure and a pet-friendly experience.
Every time I have been to this dog park there has been one or two people people who bring several dogs. Sometimes get a creepy vibe here so prefer going to Peter’s Park.
Clean and cool design and hidden! Not a lot of people know about this place, and that’s awesome because the people that do come are usually higher quality dog owners. Theres a raised plant platform thing, benches, always dog bags if you need them and a little mound/hill for dogs to run up and down on. Great little spot for fido!
A good and well maintained dog run that cleverly uses the spaces under the Route 93 overpasses. There’s also a pickle ball court, walking paths and a small river to walk your dogs around. The dog run does get crowded in the middle of the day with multiple dog walkers bringing their dogs there.
Beautiful murals all around the park and has some wonderful places to sit (as well as actual chairs around the park! rare in boston to have a place who hasn’t gotten rid of chairs bc of their hatred of homeless people. points for that!) My favorite spot is directly across the train yard/rails,,, you have overhead shelter from heat and rain and are able to watch trains go by. Very lovely 10/10. We need more urban areas to create these “city/underground” parks in areas that would otherwise look very industrial and very dull,,, while not serving any use to the public.
Pretty park but dog park is sub par. Reeks of dog pee like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. No grass just dirt rock and stone.
