If you’re searching for a dog park in Boston, Massachusetts, the Dog Park at Downer Avenue Park is a compact but cleverly designed spot for pets and their owners in the Dorchester neighborhood. Tucked within a green space and adjacent to a children’s playground, this pet-friendly park is popular with locals who want somewhere for their dogs to stretch their legs—while children enjoy the nearby playground.
The park is small but unique, using multiple levels to maximize the area for dogs to run and play. Surfaces include peastone, dirt, and grass, appealing to different play styles and comfort for paws. There is a dog water bowl available, along with lighting for evening visits, and both waste bags and trash receptacles for responsible clean-up. The park offers a bit of shade and a sense of seclusion, making it a hidden gem for city dwellers looking for a dedicated dog run in Boston.
Extremely small
That’s very nice I wish they had more of them cuz I live in roslindale and I have to go all the way to there to let my dog just run around and a little area you understand but it’s okay you can bring your kids they play on one side while you bring your dog to the other and I think there was a sprinkler during the summer time a very isolated location up a hill
The dog park is too small, poorly designed and barely maintained. Yo people, when your dog shitz ya supposed to pick it up and dispose of it in the receptacle, yes even at a dog park… Jeez!
Small space but builds a bit vertically to maximize the area they have. Has dog water bowl. Located within a green space with a children’s park next door as well.
Small park, but nice design. Several levels for the dogs to run around. Peastone on the bottom level, dirt & grass on the other levels. Water, bags, trash. Lighting allows for hours after dark.
