🌲 Lake Vista Trail at Deam Lake State Park is a hidden gem for nature lovers! The trail offers a peaceful, moderately challenging hike with rewarding views of the lake—especially stunning near sunset. The path is well-marked and shaded for most of the way, making it a great option even on warmer days. Some sections can get muddy after rain, so good hiking shoes are a must. Loved the mix of forest scenery and lake overlooks. Perfect for a quiet escape or a reflective walk in nature. Would definitely hike it again!

We stuck to the yellow trail (Lake Loop maybe?). I believe AllTrails said it was 6.5 miles. It was a horse/bicycle/walking trail. Very wide, mostly gravel and dirt, with occasional horse manure (it’s horse friendly), plenty of elevation change. There wasn’t anything unique to see but it was still nice to hike it. You couldn’t see the lake on this trail. We did go off trail for a small bit and got on the Knobstone, which has you cross the dam. So if you do that, you’ll be be able to the lake briefly. Would recommend the hike.

Large gravel lot for cars, and numerous picnic tables. We hiked the Yellow and Blue trails from the parking lot to the Lake Vista Trail. Trail was pretty, but muddy in spots from the horses. We walked back along the road and that was a pleasant walk as well.

Hiked up to Round Knob and back. Great views but you have to earn them. Very well maintained trail, and very challenging for Indiana.

Had a great hike on the 6 mile yellow loop trail around the lake. Nice amount of up and down to stay interesting. Trail is mixed use shared with horses, so it’s muddy and rocky at times.
