This is a quiet place well worth a visit. Local friends had not been there so I drove over from Chincoteague, about 25 minutes. Large expanses of wetlands with lots of birds around. At the end of the road you can walk the beach with lovely views. The town to the south is lovely, scenic and peaceful. Take binoculars and camera, picnic lunch and a good book.

I spent a lot of my childhood over there. We enjoy fishing, steamed crabs, oysters and the beaches.

This is a small community that has been here for 350 years. People are extremely friendly and helpful. The museum is a wonderful look at the past. Captain E’s Hurricane Grill and Tiki Bar serves local food in a lovely atmosphere. By the time I left, I felt like was an accepted part of the community.
