Blauvelt State Park is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts and their four-legged friends, located conveniently off Route 303 in Blauvelt, NY. This unique dog-friendly park offers miles of hiking and biking trails through natural woodlands, with the added intrigue of exploring historic WWI underground tunnels adorned with vibrant graffiti and street art. It’s perfect for dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails and those interested in local history, photography, and adventure.
The park features a mix of dirt and paved paths, creating a rustic setting for both leisurely walks and energetic hikes with your furry companion. After the rain, some areas can become muddy or flooded, so waterproof boots are recommended. While there are no designated fenced dog areas, the serene, natural environment provides a peaceful escape to enjoy with your dog on-leash. Limited parking is available at the Greenwood and Route 303 entrance, making early arrival a smart choice for busy weekends.
Fast, chill & flowy, excellent for both beginners and advanced riders looking for a chill flow ride. Some wet spots but nothing that would stop you from riding. Smartly designed trails that flow and retain speed through sections while having no severe consequences and minimal climbing.

What a cool find! Former WWI underground training facility with miles of tunnels and walls covered with graffiti. Going right after the rain, the trails were flooded in many spots which added to the experience. I enjoyed the experience, the history, the photography, and the nature.
Recommended for WWI history buffs, off the path adventurer seekers, curious explorers, and those with good waterproof boots (if you go after the rain).

Cool little park right by the freeway, with “secret tunnels” dating back to the early 1900s. Fun to wander around and see a slice of local history. Lots of cool street art/graffiti.

First time here was really nice. Lots of nature, quiet and natural sounds. Great for hiking and just getting away for a day. Bring good bug repellent!!
