Great park overlooking the Anacostia River. They offer pontoon boat tours and crew teams practice here. It is a great starting point for running/biking south towards Kenilworth Gardens or North towards Hyattsville/College Park.

Nice small, quiet but big enough to get on the grill ride your bikes or scooters. Has a seating area with cover, several benches around to lounge. Plenty of tree covering provides the perfect shade.

This is a gem of a park that is somewhat unique to the area is that it is mostly about the water! It sits right on the Anacostia River, and in season offers boat rentals. My husband and I have rented kayaks from there and paddled to the National Arboretum (if you were really ambitious, you could paddle all the way to Nats park which is now on our bucket list). You’ll likely see egrets, blue herons, ducks, and many other birds along the way.

This park is also the intersection between the northwest branch trail and the anacostia riverwalk trail, so it provides a wealth of walking/running/cycling options. The Anacostia Riverwalk Trail is especially beautiful, skimming right over water on bridges in a number of places. On your way downtown, there are places to connect to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, Kingman Island, Anacostia Park, and other great places.

The amenities at the park are otherwise limited (there is a small playground, some picnic tables, and some pavilions for rent), but as a starting point for lots of recreation it is great.

Wonderful park great for all sorts of activities. There are multiple kinds of boating, a field where yoga takes place, an amazing walking path spans the entire north area of the county and Bladensburg has a small portion of this paved treed path. It is just a great place!
