I visit Heardmont Park three times a week max. This is where the bootcamp I attend takes place. They have everything – pickleball and tennis courts, soccer fields, asphalt walkways on which to run or walk, dog walkers, a gazebo, a football stadium along with a 400m track, a senior center with a garden the seniors attend to, a playground, and several bathrooms which are normally clean.

My husband likes to see what the seniors are growing in their garden and mansplain why they should put chicken wire around the blueberry bushes. “It’s all in good fun”, I have to tell the ladies who threaten to kick him out every time.

Recently, I attended a large high school cross-country meet at Heardmont Park.

The park is beautiful. It’s very large, plenty of parking. Easy access. Great for almost any outdoor recreation. Clean. Safe. Well lit.

♿️ Beautiful, concrete walking trails that are all accessible to everyone. They are mostly level, except for the rise and fall of the bridges. The landscape is amazing and if you just want an amazing place to walk or have a picnic with these views, this is it. Bicycles are welcome, as are leashed pups. There are many trash cans and bags available to pick up after your dog.
There is a senior center on site, along with a playground for the littles. Every picnic table was under a shaded or secluded area and there was the covered pavilion with 3 unisex restrooms that are very much wheelchair accessible.
I found benches all along the trail that winds its way around the entirety of the park. And an added bonus are the lighted pathways if you choose to walk at dusk. There are several maps so you will know where you are at all times bc this area is large and I only covered about half of it.
I found another parking lot further down that would have been the “start” had I walked it all. I did double back so I could cross 2 of 3 bridges just so I could listen to the creek. Not much rain equals very low water tables, but there was enough to see it flowing.
There is a tennis court, pickleball, 2 soccer practice fields, a baseball field, and I think it was a softball field at the top all by itself, but I also believe there is a football field here too.
Parking is readily available and it was not crowded at all when I went, probably the heat.
There were a couple of kids playing in the water and a few at the playground.
Overall, really enjoyed everything about this park and would love to see some wildflowers growing in between the rocks. The grounds crew was hard at work during my visit.
A lot of the area is shady, so you aren’t in the sun as much unless you choose to be. Will definitely return.

Great game, Beautiful night for football. Band’s are both great. Oak Mountain High School Band was the Best.

I was here on a Sunday between 3-4pm.
Not busy.
This is a clean park.
I only explored the playground area with my 18 month old. There was plenty for her to do.
There were plenty of trash cans.
No shade canopies but there is a gazebo with covering.
