Good Dog Park & Bar blew me away. I had no idea what I was missing — it’s in a great location with easy parking, and they were kind enough to give Adopt A Golden Birmingham our own hour before opening so volunteers, fosters, and rescue dogs could enjoy the space. Totally free and incredibly generous.
The park is huge, fully covered, with Astroturf (no mud!), pools, climbing areas, and misters. My dogs had an absolute blast. The Bark Rangers (employees) were super attentive and really paid attention to the dogs’ behavior — no one was just standing around.
An older gentleman (maybe a manager?) asked if I wanted to see the VIP suites. I’d read about them and said yes, so he personally showed me around. A younger guy was inside overseeing the area — it was cool, quiet, and calm. Honestly one of the best boarding setups I’ve seen in Birmingham — and I’m picky.
I’m retired and have a yard, so I didn’t think I needed a dog park, but after that visit? My dogs will be going at least once a week. It’s just that good.

I was away on vacation for about two weeks, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place or team to care for Mellie. I received daily pictures and updates, and it was clear she was loved and well cared for. When I picked her up, she seemed even more socialized and happy. My family and I have nothing but wonderful reviews to give to Good Dog, especially their boarding! This was their first week with boarding open and they were awesome! They were extremely communicative and absolute angels to our pups during their stay! We got updates each day (texts, pictures and videos) and drop off/pick up was super easy! We will be using them again for any boarding or daycare needs! We have two happy pups ready for their next visit!
