Crestline Park is a charming neighborhood park located conveniently in Birmingham, AL. While not a dedicated dog park, it’s popular among local dog owners who regularly bring their pets for exercise, walks, and social play. The park is noted for its well-maintained walking trails, a generous green field, and a shaded playground area, making it an appealing spot for families and their four-legged companions.
Although official signage requires dogs to be leashed, many visitors report that leash enforcement is quite relaxed, with numerous dogs seen off-leash, especially during late afternoons. However, there is no fenced dog area, so owners should use discretion and be attentive, particularly around children and unfamiliar dogs. Park amenities include tennis and basketball courts, grassy picnic spots, and a newly renovated playground, but no public restrooms or dedicated parking lot are available.
WARNING FOR DOG OWNERS PLANNING TO VISIT THIS PARK!!! This park is not dog friendly. Despite the signs clearly stating dogs must be on the leash, irresponsible dog owners are very aggressive and refuse to put their dogs on their leashes. Many of the residents around the park use it as their personal dog park and not the public park like it is.

It’s definitely a nice park for taking a walk around the track or playing catch in the grass. There’s a little area with various resistance machines to get some more exercise. Absolutely no one seems to obey the leash laws with their dogs while in the park though, so that can be frustrating and alarming to children who aren’t comfortable with strange dogs running up to them. There is also no public parking, so your only options are to park in front of someone’s house on the street or maybe at one of the businesses nearby.
